I knew Karl when I was a child. He and my Mom had two children together. I don’t know if they were married, I do know that he was good to my older sister and I. We girls loved him. My little brother Roger Alvin Alford was born on Sept. 24, 1953., and my little sister, Vicki Jean Alford was born Feb.18,1955. Roger died shortly after the turn of the century. He was laid to rest in Northern Calif. Veterans Cemetery. Rogers was also in the Navy. Roger too was a jokester, and acted like he didn’t like you but we knew he loved us. He never married or had children.Vicki married when she was 16 and graduated from college when she was 22. Her husband died of cancer when their son was19. Karl tried to reconnect with her but wouldn’t. She was a daycare teacher and saw to many children abandoned by their fathers, that made her feelings of abandonment even worse. When she told me about Karl trying to connect with her she was so angry. I tried to reason with her and encourage her to give him a chance and I tried to get her to give me his telephone # but she refuse to give it to me.Talk about stubborn. When I was 7 or 8 years old I argued with my older sister when she told me that Karl wasn’t my dad. I wanted to reconnect with him cause I remember the happy times with him, I was messing around with my cell phone and run across his obituary and it grieved my heart that I will not get see him here on earth. Glad to here he is a Christian, I’ll see him in heaven. Oh by the way,Vicki looks just like Karl. She has his smile and his eyes. Pray that she gives her heart to Jesus. Just thought you’ll would be interested in hearing about his children. I have to smile, him and Roger are together.
