Obituary
Kathryn A. Messer, 74, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021. She was born in Brazil, Indiana to the late Charles E. and Virginia L. (Gibbens) Keen on July 20, 1947. Kathryn worked for AT&T for 40 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church for 20 years. Kathryn was also a member of the VFW, Mouse and the American Legion. She took great pleasure in assembling puzzles and watching game show networks. She also enjoyed bird watching. Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her fiancé and partner of 13 years, Larry Gazvoda; daughter, Kelly (Matt) Freeman; grandkids, Noah, Josiah, Obadiah, Elijah and Jael Freeman; and her brother, Ed Keen. Memorial contributions in honor of Kathryn can be made to the St. Christopher Building Fund 5301 W. 16th Street Indianapolis, IN 46224.

My memories of Kathy go back to grade school, HS. I am so honored to have been your friend all these years. Even though we didn't see each other very often through the years, we emailed, sent text. You always sent me a birthday card & Christmas card. Thank you for those! I am so glad we were able to get together about a month ago. I prayed my heart out all this time while you were in the hospital. Sending more prayers & all my love to you Kathy. Carole

I will miss Kathy so much. Knew her when she moved here to the Westside, ran into her a lot at the Phone Company and really reconnected in the last 14 years. She was such a good friend. My heart is broken.
