I first met Don when he orgaized a "pong" tournament for us kids that played the first table top vidio game at the Scoop Ice Cream Parlor next to Port O' Call aprtments in the early seventies. Later as I got into guitar I would spend countless hours hanging out at his music store. Don was an amazing musician and a wonderful human being. I lost touch with Don after his Retirement and just now saw the news of his passing. Condolences to his family and Rest in Peace Don.

I was shocked to hear of Don’s passing. When I hear certain songs, I think of him as we sang those songs in the band. He was always a gentleman. My condolences to the family. Please take care and God Bless Mary Ann of The Good Times Three

I want to send my sympathies to the entire family. I worked at the speedway store for a couple of years. Always enjoyed our in-depth conversations about music, life and literally everything. Don was a great boss and friend. My best wishes to for whole family.

Don was without a doubt one of the best guitarists I've seen and heard, but he also played the piano. My first piano training was from him, starting when he had his first studio on 34th street. The most important teacher is your first teacher. If he is exceptional, as Don was, he can unlock a love for music which lasts a lifetime. Thank you, Don, for setting me on that musical road.
