Obituary
Judith Gajic was preceded in death by James Dunovan (father), Pollie Hussar (mother), Jerry Hollawell (brother), and Zivorad Gajic (husband). She was survived by John Hussar (brother), Natalia Gajic (daughter), and Milenko Gajic (son). Her hobbies involved gardening, stock market trading, baking, and crafting, even dabbling in stained glass before her children arrived. She enjoyed reading both fiction and non-fiction books and magazines. Judy attained her college degree from Butler University in Indiana having majored in chemistry with a minor in biology. She worked at Methodist from 1968 to 1990, moved to University Hospital in 1990 then in 1998, Methodist and IU combined to become Clarian Health which morphed into IU Health with satellite hospitals/labs all over Indiana. Judy continued to work with Clarian full-time or part-time until 2020. She maintained associations with the American Chemical Society & American Society of Medical Technologists. She actively donated to The National Audubon Society, animal shelters, American Indian schools, and the Metropolitan Police. She was a regular participant in church activities and events. Judy was a part of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church & member of K.S.S., Yovan Ducic Choir (her voice was a tenor) & SOCA. She was known to do things her own way sometimes having been called feisty a time or two. A famous quote was prominently placed in her kitchen which seems reasonable to share. It read "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened. ~ Dr. Seuss".

Judy was a quiet, humble & smart person. I have known her since she was Ms Judy Dunovan in 1967-1968. She took the ASCP board exam & there were two of diff years that their class from Methodist Hospital School of Medical Technology topped the board in State of Indiana & National top notch. Judy if I remember topped the State overall. What a smart lady! Yet with humility, I don’t think she even bragged it even to her own kids. I remember her as a supervisor in Hematology Dept on Evening Shift. She’s hard worker & never complain that I can recall. Instead of commanding her techs who were so laid back, she did the work that her people should be performing. That’s the Judy that most of us who knew her back then. God Bless her & Peace to all she loves.

Heartbroken and saddened to hear of the repose of sweet +Judy. We worked together as part of the SOCA board for many many years. +Judy was a valued and loved member of the board and will be deeply missed by her fellow choir members across North America. Heaven has gained a beautiful angelic voice. May her Memory be Eternal. Heartfelt condolences to her family and friends at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church in Indianapolis. May fond memories guide your healing journey.

A sad day when I found out that Judy, had passed away, what a nice lady, and glad to have known her, I sang with her in Jovan Ducic choir,at Saint Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church for many years, she was a caring lady, yet humble and modest, liked good jokes, and keeping up with traditions, certainly enjoyed talking with her! Judy was very honest, you can tell she cared a lot about so many things, we will miss her !
