Zachariah Robert Nash, 24, passed away on January 10,2023 surrounded by family and friends. He was born on September 25,1998 in Indianapolis, IN to parents Michael and Denise Nash.

 

Zach graduated from Ben Davis High School in 2017. He had a fond appreciation for music of all genres and enjoyed playing the guitar. He loved gaming with his friends, skateboarding, good food, and growing his seemingly endless collection of clothes and shoes. He was also an avid fan of mixed martial arts and never missed a chance to watch a good UFC fight. Zach was a devoted and loving family member and friend to many with a natural charisma that brightened every room he entered. He was best known for his sense of humor and his ability to break the ice in any situation.

 

He will be missed by his parents, sister Olivia Nash, grandmother Angeline Nash, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Robert Nash and grandparents Melvin and Ruby Matt.

My sincere love and prayers to family and friends. I pray you find comfort in the memories we are blessed to have made with Zach. Zach was a one of a kind young man who had this uncanny ability to make people laugh. He was a longtime friend of both my daughters and one of my oldest daughter Mia's best friends. I have vague memories of him when he was younger but more recently built a bond with him over online gaming. He had this ability to frustrate you and make you smile at the same time. We poked at each other and teased while my daughters enjoyed the conversation but always ended our game play laughing. I can't believe he's gone but , we will see him again . When I do , I'll be sure to remind him how bad he was at the game per usual. Lol ! Love ya buddy. Forever in my heart and memories. My Condolences Colin Campbell

He was the quiet smiling kid at our family functions. He was slow at opening up every time, but once he was comfortable around us, he contributed with jokes and comradery the rest of the day. He will be missed and remembered fondly. The void will be noticed and his memory will live on. Prayers to his family. Lynn

I had the honor of serving as Zach’s school counselor at Ben Davis. I have very fond memories of talking to him about his passion for music. He was such a creative. I know he will be so missed by his family and friends. Praying for peace for you all. Susan Williams

Living far away, we did not spend much time with Zach and didn’t get to know him as a young man. I do know, however, that Zachariah Robert Nash brought some serious joy to his parents, his sister, and his extended family and friends. Denise and Michael were so thrilled to be having a baby and enjoyed him from Day One. They were always loving and proud of his academic achievements and his musical inclination, and they watched him persist through challenges and maintain his sensitive heart. From the time he was tiny to what seems like a minute ago, he was making people laugh with his sharp wit and cheeky humor. Of course, there were times of frustration and worry (oh, how we worry!), but most of all Zach was a gift and a blessing. Denise, Michael and Olivia, I am so sorry that this unfair, terrible, shitty thing has happened.
