On June 5, 2026, Indianapolis, Indiana lost a remarkable soul, Jacqueline E.R. Moody, affectionately known to many as Jackie. Born in Indianapolis on November 24, 1937, Jacqueline's life was a testament of resilience, compassion, and unwavering love. She was a woman who embraced life with open arms and a wide smile, displaying a unique blend of thoughtfulness and courage that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her supportive nature was not just limited to her family and friends; it extended to her community, where she was a cherished member of the Lions Club, serving as a "Band Aid Member - An Aid for the Band."
Jackie's journey was impressive and filled with accomplishments. A woman of many talents, Jackie was a hand model in her earlier days, her beautiful hands were featured in commercials. She began her career in 1965 at Lerner Clothing Store, where she served for a decade. Then, Jackie found her calling in the banking industry, joining Merchants National Bank's Legal Department. She spent her years serving as an Investment Banker, a position for 24 years, she held with passion and dedication till her retirement. Her professional achievements were a reflection of her hard work, dedication and commitment.
Jacqueline's love for life extended beyond her professional duties. She was an avid NASCAR fan, with a particular fondness for Jeff Gordon. She loved going on cruise ships, bravely facing her fear of water with humor, often joking about wearing a life vest while doing dishes and showering. Her love for country music, Elvis, and comedians, specifically Jeff Dunham, brought joy to her life and those around her. She was also a bowling enthusiast, taking great pleasure in being part of a Bowling League.
Jacqueline was a loving daughter to Mary and Jack Logsden, both of whom preceded her in death.
As we remember Jacqueline, we are reminded of the verse in Proverbs 31:25-26, "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." Jacqueline embodied these words, living her life with strength, dignity, and a sense of humor that will forever be remembered.
