Charles Lauren Davis, 79, of Indianapolis passed away on May 15, 2023. He was born in Brazil, IN to Robert Charles and Clara Helen Davis on April 16, 1944. Charles completed his apprenticeship as a Tool & Die Maker in February 1968 for Hamblen Gage. He retired from Rolls Royce in 2005. Charles enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, camping and traveling. He also enjoyed woodworking and shooting. He had a passion for chickens. He would play slot machines and scratch off tickets. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Clara Davis; his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann; and his beloved dog, Suger who passed away in 2022. He is survived by his daughter, Melynda Davis; son, Danny Davis; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Connie Wigley; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

I have so many memories of Lauren. I don't even know where to start. He always made me feel as part of the family. He taught me so much. He taught me how to ski, fish, ride a motorcycle, and so much more, He shared his love of the outdoors. I will miss him dearly. His laugher, kindness, forgiveness, and thoughtfulness were traits that made him so special. I loved the relationship that he had with Maryann. I think everyone dreams of a relationship like theirs. I am so blessed to have had him in my life. He will never be forgotten and always missed. Love always Sheri

Uncle Lauren was like no other. Not only did he watch over his children, but always worried and cared for his nieces and nephews. I always knew how much he loved me , it always showed. I'll miss him dearly, but have more memories than I can count. He and Aunt Maine ( that's what I called her) always made me feel special. I'm sure they are together once again ❤️

Dear Melynda and Danny and family, We are thinking of you all and are very sad and sorry for your loss. We always thought so much of your dad and loved him.. my sweet Uncle 'Butch'. We really enjoyed the video and photos you shared, thank you. It was so nice and it made me get emotional. It took me back to some childhood days and happy family memories when more of us were still together. Keeping you all in our loving thoughts and prayers for your peace and comfort.
