With a heart brimming with compassion and a spirit that radiated generosity, Jack Flory was a beacon of warmth in the lives of those who knew him. Born on May 13, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN, he lived his life with a loyal heart and a witty mind, bringing joy to those around him until his departure on January 18, 2026. Jack lived his life embodying the words of Albert Schweitzer, "The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others."

Jack's love for life was evident in his many passions. He was a dedicated driver in the transportation and recovery industry, a position he held with pride, skill, and dedication. His love for old cars and trucks was more than just a hobby—it was a passion that allowed him to connect with others and share his knowledge and enthusiasm. Not one to stay idle, Jack also found solace in the calm and serenity of fishing, an activity that allowed him to appreciate the simple things in life.

But what mattered most to Jack was his love for his mom, Georgetta Flory, who survives him. Their bond was a testament to Jack's compassionate nature and his steadfast loyalty. His family was his world, and he leaves behind a rich legacy, survived by his mother, Georgetta; his brother, Richard Jr. (Ludy); his sister, Sheryl Koenig (Clayton); his nieces, Karen Tipton, Julie Andrews, and Cassie Flory; his nephews, Richard III (Amanda) and Chris Moss; his step-children, Billie Jo Muston and Robbie Muston; grandkids, Dallen Nichols, Josh Nichols and Devony Porter; a host of great nieces and nephews; friend, Danny Markus; and his caregivers, Greta Willis and Adeline Still. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sr.; his nephew, Tony Andrews; sister-in-law, Cora Flory; and brother-in-law, Homer Koenig. .

In the words of Kahlil Gibran, "Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need." Jack lived by these words, and his legacy of undying loyalty, wit, generosity, and compassion will continue to inspire us. We invite all who knew Jack to share their memories, stories, and photos on his memorial page, celebrating the extraordinary life of this exceptional man.

I'll always remember fishing with Uncle Jack and him turning me on to Sargent Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Beatles. My heart goes out to Grandma Flory and the rest of the family. There's no words i can say to ease the soul during these times but my wife and I are on our knees asking God for peace in your hearts during this moment of grief as well as thanking God for the moments we all had with him. Much love to you all.

Uncle Jack was the true definition of an uncle. A man who would tease, aggravate and tickle me until I cried. Sometimes he would steal my ponytail holders when I was younger and he had long hair. But what I remember most, is how he was there for me anytime I needed him. I knew I could call him if I needed anything. He was like that with everyone. A very kind and generous man. I was truly blessed to have him for an uncle.

Now I understand why I only had one brother. He definitely was one of a kind . Nobody could possibly had a better brother than mine . Not just a brother but my best friend. My brother had a heart of gold and I know you've probably heard the saying he would give the shirt off his back well here's one man that actually would do just that. Jack had his faults but good faults. He had a fault for giving and never expected anything in return..He had a fault for caring for people who sometimes didn't deserve it, but Jack had a very very forgiving heart. He had a fault for trusting and it sometimes cost him but he was ok with it. Love you Jack! See ya soon my brother! Save me a seat I'll be right there ;)

I love you papaw, we was just litterallly talking about going fishing this summer. I’m glad I did get to come up and see you from Tennessee even after having surgery. I remember seeing that biggest smile on your face that lit up when I walked through that door. You always had a smile on your face regardless of what situation was going on. You will forever be missed I love you papaw until we see each other again

Jack was a very kind man that often showed it quiet ways. He was very giving to anyone in need. He put family first and was always only a call away. There were plenty of times he helped Ricky and I over the years, even with little things. It always mattered, and he made you feel like you had someone you could call when you were in a bind. He left this earth way too soon and I am so glad we all got to see him at Christmas. He will be missed forever and always. There is no words to express the sorrow you feel of losing a loved one. My prayers are with all the family.
