Obituary

Danny Joe Lockard, 71, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on April 28, 2024. He was born in Indianapolis to Clarence and Bertha (Carter) Lockard in January of 1953.

Danny was a truck driver for over 25 years having worked for EMAS, OKI, Ohio Valley and Ryder. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family on Lake Monroe camping and fishing. He also enjoyed working on cars.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents; son Robert Lockard; wife, Faith; stepdaughter Karen McGowen; brothers Mike and Paul Lockard; sister Sandy Cripe.

Danny is survived by his sons Brian (Angela) Lockard and Brad (Shelda) Lockard; stepdaughter Christine (Terry) Miller; sisters Patti (Charlie) Lambert and Anita (John) Shelley; brother Rusty (Sherry) Lockard; grandchildren Rachel Lockard, Kylie Lockard, Nathan Lockard, Patrick Brinegar, Donald (T'Ashley) McGowen, Brandon McGowen, Christopher (Marie) Brinegar, Ricky (Kirsten) McGowen, Samuel (Felecia) Miller and Ashley (Joe) Williams; brother-in-law Ted Cripe, sister-in-law Dana Lockard and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Danny you were number 3 of my big brothers, now I have a big sister Patti and baby brother Rusty. I know we had our moments but throughout a lifetime, we had our childhood with Santa and Easter bunny. Then years into our lives we found ourselves back to needing each other. Even helped me find “Sesame Street lol! Had lots of memories to share. And lunches, even took you for rides to get out of the house. I do miss you and it hadn’t been that long since we had lost our oldest sister. I miss all our family that has been gone to be with the Lord. And hopefully soon we’ll have our family reunion still before God comes calling us home. I loved you and still do and always miss you. Hope your singing in the Angels choir!
