Obituary

Carol Hutton, 69, passed away May 29, 2024, at her home in Avon, Indiana, with her son and daughter by her side.

She was born September 11, 1954, to Sylvia and Don Isenberg.

Carol Hutton was truly special. With her infectious smile and generous spirit, she brought joy to everyone around her. She loved watching NASCAR and dirt track racing, and could be found most summer Saturday nights at a local dirt track cheering on her favorite driver, her son. She enjoyed traveling around the world, including adventures in Kenya, Ireland, France, New Zealand, and the Galápagos Islands with her daughter. Carol enjoyed going to music concerts and she was a lifelong devoted fan of the Indiana Hoosiers basketball teams. Her friends and family were everything to Carol, and they equally adored her.  Carol's impact on others was profound. She will be deeply missed.

Carol is preceded in death by Greg, her husband of 44 years, and survived by son Christopher and daughter Rebecca; three brothers, Skip, John, and Deiter (Katie); four grandchildren, David, Ashley (Ed), Kyle (Keaira), and Alivia; ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and nurses of IU Health West, family members, and dear friends who went out of their way to provide support, assistance, and encouragement to the Huttons during recent months.

At her request, no service will be held. A celebration of life will be planned at a later time.

Chris and Rebecca, you are family, yes we are always five hours away but we always enjoyed the visits that were never often enough. I loved your mom and dad and will deeply miss them both. I would always tell her she was my favorite “aunt” and she loved to remind that she was Mae’s niece and that we are cousins, I finally convinced her that I call her aunt as a term of endearment and that as long as I could remember she was my favorite aunt and that I have nothing but great memories of her, Greg and Chris and Bec. She smiled, we hugged and she told me she loved me too. This was one of my last conversations with her, we were in Las Vegas, she enjoyed a nice shot of Jack Daniel’s and we had a meal that night. It was special, it was great and a lot of fun, just like my Aunt Carol. We will miss her deeply.

Carol Hutton's love and devotion to her children and her family was exemplary, and I am grateful that I was able to know that firsthand. Her support was unflagging and her enthusiasm genuine and unflagging. That smile in this photo is the way I remember her at every performance, at moments she shared with Becky and Chris, and whenever I spoke with her that smile was a key part of our interaction. She will be missed dearly, but remembered fondly and her legacy will live on in the many ways she influenced you both and the work you've done and contributions you've made through her encouragement and support. May her love always be wrapped around you.

Wednesday was the saddest day of my life. Carol has been my best friend for 30+ years. Michael and I are both devastated at her passing and are heartbroken for Chris & Bec and all the Grands & Great Grands, as well as the rest of Carol's family and friends. . Carol was a magnificent person - generous in every way possible, full of love and laughs, wisdom and most of all for me, unwavering support, love & friendship of the best kind. I will miss her terribly. From NASCAR race weekends in Bristol & Charlotte to a Dixie Chick concert in Dublin Ireland, it was always the most fun ever in my life. Our Love & Sincerest Sympathies to all that knew & loved this one of a kind Lady. Sadly, Kat & Michael Bratt
