Earl D. Goddard
Earl D. Goddard, 99, passed away on September 29, 2026, in Brownsburg, Indiana.
Earl was born on March 10, 1927, in Christopher, Illinois, to the late Dudley B. Goddard and Dovie Faulin.
A proud veteran, Earl served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He later enjoyed a long career with General Motors Allison and was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.
Earl was a member of American Legion Brownsburg and St. Christopher Catholic Parish. Throughout his life, he enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, and gardening. Above all, Earl treasured his family. He especially enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, cheering on the Indiana Hoosiers, and traveling with his family.
Earl was married for 69 years to his beloved wife, Mary Louise Goddard, who preceded him in death in 2020.
He is survived by his children, David Goddard (Jeri), Elaine Staton (Bob), Kevin Goddard (Kathy), Richard Goddard (Cindy), Laurie Nelms (Dale), and Timothy Goddard (Emily); son-in-law Joe Fleck, 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his wife and parents, Earl was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Fleck; his son, Edward Goddard; and his sister, Carolyn McDonald (Jim).
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church, with Father Michael Welch officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted in recognition of Earl’s service to his country.
