Obituary
Joseph P. Fernandes, 72, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 16, 2009. He was born on May 19, 1936. Joseph retired from IU Medical Center in 1981 and was a member of St. Michael Church. He loved to travel and cook. He is survived by his wife, Immaculata Fernandes; sons, Francis (Ayrica), Joachim, Leonard, David, and John Bosco (Shalonda) Fernandes; daughters, Angelica (Tim) Browder and Mari Grace (Cliff) Polley; sisters, Mary and Lilly; brothers, Batu and John; 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, February 20 at Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W 10th St, Indpls, from 4-7:30 pm, with a 7:30 prayer service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 21 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3354 W 30th St, Indpls, at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery.
