Obituary
John V. "Jack" Scott 80, of Indianapolis, passed away April 14, 2009. He was born July 16, 1928 to parents, Mr. and Mrs. James P. Scott, both of whom have preceded him in death. Jack attended Butler University and went on to work for his family owned trucking company. He was an active member of St. Joan of Arc for many years and most recently attended St. Christopher Catholic Church. Jack never knew a stranger, talking to everyone he ever met. He was one of God's special angels. He is survived by his step-brother, Gene Wheeler; niece, Cindy (Delmar, Jr.) Pierce; great-niece, Lanay Lakes; and cousin, Judy Braden. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indianapolis, at 1:00 pm with visitation there from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Care Group, 9190 Priority Way W Dr, Suite 111, Indpls, IN 46240. Jack was such a loving and giving man who never asked anything for himself. He was truly a special human being and he is with the Lord right now, talking His leg off and having a grand time seeing his loved ones. Rest in peace Jack.

Jack was a very nice man. He and his Dad took me and my Dad, Joseph Gallagher, to a Notre Dame football game in 1972. Once he came by our house and told my Mom he had been eating a lot. In the nicest way possible, my Mom teased Jack about not being able to "put down the fork."
My Dad and I had dinner with Jack at Knobby's at 52nd and Keystone in September 1996. Jack was a wonderful fellow and a great parishioner at St. Joan of Arc.
