I loved Mark! He was my best friend, and I hated when he moved from Louisville to Indy. We kept in touch over the years, but not as much as we'd like to. He had even came back to Louisville and helped me move a couple of times, which held more wonderful memories. When he got "laid off" from Baptist, because he was injured by his boss, off duty, in Karate, which his boss was the owner, his boss laid him off from his job at Batptis, faring Mark wass going to sue him. I know, sounds strange. All Mark wanted was to make sure all of his medical bills were covered, because he needed surgery on his shoulder due to the extensive injuries. After Mark was laid off, to supplement his income he started to work at UPS, nights. When he got home, around 2 a.m. he would drive slowly in the back of our property bldg. and rev his motorcycle engine, or jeep engine, and I would wake up and go turn on my computer waiting, patiently for the sound, I miss today, "You've Got Mail" and I would open up Marks' message. We would talk on AOL until he got tired and wanted to go to bed. Sometimes until daylight. I was the property manager and had to be at work to open the office by 10 a.m. but I did not mind losing sleep! I loved our talks. Many times throughout the week, after he woke up, he would come into the office and keep me company. There was nothing we couldn't/didn't talk about. I knew absolutely everything about him, his family, his life, his passions, his plans. And I shared all of me with him. Yes, he was truly my best friend. It was too late when I realized how much I loved him, and after much thought, I also realized that he loved me. But like I said it was too late. I had already started a new relationship Even today I still regret not truly realizing what we ment to each other. We did simple friend things together. He wanted me to go shopping for his mother's b'day gift and then help him shop for Christmas. He did n't need the help he just wanted us to be together. Might sound mundane, but those simple times meant so much. He also rmembered little this=ngs I would tell him, like I my favorite Disney movie was Fantasia. I would smoke a bit of, well it was illegal then, and then watch Fantasia. Several months later I was given a surprise b'day party and guess what my gift was. A video of Fantasia. It was one conversation, but he remembered! I will never forget inviting him over for dinner to eet the new guy in my life. At the time I saw what he did and said as joking. Like, I had forgotten to get knives, and I started to get up and the guy I was seeing said "no<i'll get them" and Mark said "No, i know where they are at." That started an "I know" war between them until Mark said' I know which drawer her underwear is in." I immediately said "He helped me move" which was true, But then I didn't realize that was a Jealousy thing between 2 guys and not Mark trying to bother the new person in my life. Also, one time were had went to eat with a friend and a restaurant/bar in downtown Louisville and I was between relationships. I felt kind of down and don't know what was said or what I had said, I just remember Mark saying I could get anyone in the bar I wanted. So I started looking at everyone sitting at the bar, and even the 2 bartenders. I am sure I made various comments, and the last person I looked at was Mark, and stupidly said "Nope." Later, when me and my friend Mary Ann were in the restaurant she asked me if I saw the look on Mark's face. Of course, I missed it because I was too busy making a joke from what he said. And she said he looked between hurt and sad. Later we are all in his Jeep, I was in the back so I could see his reflection in the mirrow. Mary Ann asked him if I had said yes when I looked at him in the bar, what would he have said or done. Sadly, all he said was "that was in the bar and it's over." I could go on and on about all of the opportunities we missed. It jst makes me miss him so much more. After he bought his house in Indy I came there for a business meeting. We arrived the night before and I called him to tell him I was in town. He picked me up from the hotel and took me out to eat, then we went back to his ne house and I got the grand tour, ending in the bedroom. Before you get any ideas, I sit on the side of the bed and he stood, and we just talked, sadly just talked. Then we had a couple of glasses of wine, again my favorite Reisling, which he remembered. After 1.a.m. he drove me back to the hotel and I went in. So many songs make me think of him...I Love You More, The Power of Love, I Love You, Woman In Love,Tell Him, Somewhere, Because you Loved me, Let's Give Them Something to Talk About, Please Remember Me,Wind Beneth My Wings, Unchained Melody which really made me cry, always, because it was the first song, several weeks after my children died that I heard that made me just cry my eyes out, at work, in front of everyone, and they just stood silently, which is just what I needed.I know the list is long, and when I hear them, usually driving, I jst start crying, and drive while looking through my tears. God I miss him so vvery, very much. Please, please wait for me. I love you Mark, with all of my heart, and I so wish I had told you sooner. Would think have been different, between us, definately!!
