Obituary
Joe Purichia, 51, of Indianapolis, passed away February 18, 2010. He was born September 11, 1958 to Spiro A. and Mildred Purichia. Joe graduated from Decatur Central High School and played many sports. He worked for Shiel Sexton Construction as a superintendent and was the assistant football coach at Cardinal Ritter High School for 15 years. Joe also coached for CYO at St. Michael Catholic Church for 15 years. He is survived by his parents; stepsons, Brandon and Ryan White; stepdaugher, Stacey White; sisters, Terry Newsom, Trina Purichia and Catherine Nucklolls; brother, David Purichia; several nieces and nephews and Sharon White, his companion of 21 years. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Cardinal Ritter High School, 3360 W 30th St, Indpls, from 2-7:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning there at 7:00 pm. Joe's brother, David Purichia will be presiding. A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, at Floral Park Cemetery at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in memory of Joseph Purichia to Cardinal Ritter High School. Sharon, Ryan Stacey, Brandon and family. Patti, myself and the boys express our deepest sympathy for your loss. Joe was a great guy with a great devotion to his family as well as his time given to Eagle Creek Little League, St. Michaels and Cardinal Ritter. Our family connection began when Ryan wa 10 yrs old at ECLL. I personally had the pleasure to coach with him at ECLL including some very special moments in District 8 Tournaments. How can I or anyone else forget the championship game against Fall Creek when I got thrown out and was asked to sit up on the hill when I turned around and saw Joe walking up the hill behind me suffering a similar fate. Our prayers go out to you all.

SORRY WONT BE ABLE TO MAKE THE SERVICES. THE FAMILY WILL BE IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.OUR FAMILY HAS A LOT OF GREAT MEMORIES,LIKE WHEN FRANK AND I USED TO PLAY FOOTBALL OUT IN THE STREET WITH HIM. LIKE WHEN HE BUILT THE MINY BARN FOR MY DAD,MY DAD WAS ALWAYS PRAISING WHAT A GOOD JOB HE HAD DONE.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Purichia Family. It's been along time since I've been around your family but I remember Joe for his humor and personality. I have family members who know him well for all the work he's done at Ritter over the years. He will be greatly missed. My prayers are with your family.

Even though our lives drifted apart after a number of years growing up together there was a childhood bond with Joe and his brother David, that became a part of who I am today. Years later, I made a return visit to the old neighborhood after I had moved away and met Joe again. We exchanged a few enjoyable memories and as we parted agreed to set aside time to go fishing together.....We never kept that commitment and I regret now that we didn't...there was always time I thought... In our lives today, we we seem to get caught up in the things that don't really matter and tend to put aside those things that we realize often times too late, are of lasting importance. It wasn't until recently that I happened upon the news of Joe's passing. I'm proud to have known him for the years that I did and will always have a place in my heart for the friendship and childhood memories that he was such a large part of. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Purichia Family.
