To Julia, and family:
Maurice often spoke with great love about you. He became an oblate of St. Benedict here at Our Lady of Grace Monastery on May 22, 2016. Maurice always contributed great stories and shared his deep faith as he participated in activities here. We missed his presence when Covid-19 hit us all, and afterward as his health deteriorated. I did speak with him on the phone recently and told him that we continued to hold him in prayer. I know he is resting with the angels now after a long and fruitful, faith-filled life. Now, we pray for you that you may know peace and consolation during this time of grieving.
Sincerely,
Sister Antoinette Purcell, OSB

I got to know Maurice during several car rides down to St Meinrad Archabbey and always enjoyed our conversations. He was a large influence on my spiritual journey. He is one of the warmest, most compassionate people I’ve known and I will miss him greatly! Decolores my brother!

I'm not sure how my Uncle Sonny got his nickname. All I know is that he will always be my Uncle Sunny! He always had a bright smile and loving heart. When he would walk into a room; it would light up. I know his words would say "Don't be sad; I'm in a brighter place." love you Uncle Sunny. Rest in peace.

From Bill and Judy Hopper
We are going to miss you! You were always our strength throughout our sorrows. Bless your beautiful heart and soul. Your cousin Bill would love to stack hay with you on the farm. I would also like to hear your strong voice make siren sounds at the old stop lights. I wonder if the cars would pull over today!! They sure did back in the day!!
