Chris Kyle McCrary Coffin, 87, of Avon, passed away May 2, 2010. She was born March 31, 1923. Chris was a graduate of Manual High School. She worked at Wilking Music, Fox Music, Trane Company and in apartment leasing. She was a member of the Indianapolis 500 Ladies Old-timers Auxiliary and St. Luke?s Church in Speedway. Her hobbies included auto racing, jazz & Tony Bennett?s music, dancing, Crestwood dance team, traveling, spending time with her nieces and nephews and was an avid reader. Chris is survived by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Stevens Mortuary & Family Center, 5520 W 10th St, Indpls on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Flowers welcome or donate to your favorite charity. www.stevensmortuary.net

Hi, my dad Arch Tower was the manager at the Trane Company and Chris worked there with him for many years. My dad passed away in 2006 and it was so nice of Chris to come to his funeral and for me to visit with her. I was at Chris's memorial (unfortunately came after it started & had to leave before it was over having 2 other funerals to get to that day) & didn't get the opportunity to speak with any of the nieces or nephews. I remember Chris as full of energy, a spring in her step, and a smile on her face. My dad thought she was the greatest and relied on her to keep things organized and running smoothly. She was very kind to me when I worked there one summer between high school and college. I'm so glad that I got to hear so many wonderful stories about her on Saturday. Please know that she was very appreciated at the Trane Company and that my father spoke very highly and kindly of her always.
