Ralph "Chuck" Smith 64, Indianapolis, passed away May 22, 2010. He was born August 9, 1945. Chuck served in the U.S. Marine Corps, which was a big part of his life. He served during the Vietnam War and received two Purple Hearts. Chuck was employed for 20 years at Hockett Motors in auto wholesales. He loved sports and the Colts! He was a free lance Big Brother. Survivors include four sisters; four brothers; many nieces and nephews and companion Dodie Orr. Visitation will be held at Stevens Mortuary and Family Center, 5520 W. 10th St., Tues. May 25 from 4 to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Gleaners Food Bank. Burial will be in Kansas. www.stevensmortuary.net

My late husband and Chuck became good friends in the late 1970's when Joe started selling cars. He was fun, but a very caring and compassionate person. He had a great smile and laugh. My deepest sympathy to his family. Linda Meyer
