Melvin McCartney

Melvin "Mac" McCartney 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 29, 2010. He was born on November 24, 1925. Melvin was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp. and a WWII Veteran. He owned McCartney Escavating for 50 years. Melvin was preceded in death by his brother, Edward McCartney. He is survived by his children, Diana, Patrick, Rosanna, Vince, Michael, Mark, Linda, Stephanie and Melinda; sisters, Pauline Doty and Maryjane Mears; along with 15 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Stevens Mortuary & Family Center, 5520 W. 10th St., Indianapolis, at 11:30 a.m., with visitation there from 10:00-11:30 a.m. A 2:00 p.m. graveside service will follow at Clinton Falls Cemetery, Greencastle, IN. www.stevensmortuary.net
