Michael J. Ray 57, Indianapolis, passed away January 1, 2011. He was born January 12, 1953 to Marion J. and Patricia Ray. He worked for State Gear Co. for 15 years as a machinist. Michael loved the Indianapolis Colts, ice fishing and auto racing. Survivors include his wife, Anita Ray; children, Matthew, Ashley and Allison Ray; mother, Patricia Ray; sister, Pattie Ann Ray and brothers Tony and Mark Ray. His father, Marion J. Ray preceded him in death. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6 at Stevens Mortuary and Family Center, 5520 W. 10th St., Indpls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1375 S. Mickley Ave. Indpls. at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Michael J. Ray in care of Pattie Ray. www.stevensmortuary.net

Mike and I went to Ritter together and played football. Off the field we had great high school fun. He had a gentle and kind demeanor and sense of humour. I am sorry to hear of his passing.
