Obituary
Gary L. Sauer, 59, Indianapolis, passed away February 28, 2012. He was born July 26, 1952. Gary was in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years and most recently with Monumental Life Insurance for five years. He belonged to the Moose Lodge. Gary loved the Colts, Pacers, poker and his movies. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Sauer and sister, Carla McKenzie. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Sauer; daughters, Barbara Runnels and Mary (Calvin) Adams; father, Carl Sauer; brothers, Stephen and Thomas Sauer and grandchildren Melissa, Michael, Carson and Cameron. A Celebration of Life for Gary will be Friday, March 2 from 9am-11am with a Memorial Mass at 11am in St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 6000 W. 34th St. Indpls. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements entrusted to Stevens Mortuary and Family Center. www.stevensmortuary.net

To the Family of Gary Sauer, My name is Angela Sharp; I am a volunteer minister and I wanted to express my condolences to you for you loss. I would also like to share with you a thought from the Bible that I have found to be very encouraging when facing the loss of a loved one. God understands the pain that death can cause. But He is only one that can end death and the suffering it brings. He promises that one day in the near future right here on the Earth He will wipe out death forever. This promise can be found in the book of Revelation chapter 21 and verse 4. We read there "He (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
