Obituary
Louise M. Dryer, 92, Indianapolis, past onto the lord on January 17, 2013. It was just one hour after receiving the Sacrament of the Last Rites and on her 71st wedding anniversary. Louise was born on February 3, 1920 in St. Charles, MO to Louis and Anna C. (Knoblach) Hibbeler. Louis, a cigar maker, and Anna, a seamstress, both precede her in death and in 1989 her husband of 47 years, Mr. Harry E. Dryer preceded her in death. Louise is also preceded in death by her daughters, Lucy Leighton and Linda Soel; son, Peter Dryer and sisters, Marge Krause, Lorraine Wyrsch and Ruth Sweeney. Louise was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She also fostered many children in Vigo County. She spent many years volunteering in soup kitchens and giving back to the communities in which she lived. Louise also volunteered for the RSVP Hotline for Catholic Charities, a resource for adults 55 and over, and the Guardian Angel Guild (St. Mary Child Center). While there, she committed herself to generosity and to the responsible use of spiritual and material resources. She taught ESL at St. Vincent Hospital, IPS Schools and the Indianapolis Public Library. Louise, a devout catholic, served as a Lector at Annunciation Catholic Church in Brazil, IN and Christ the King Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN. and was currently a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Speeedway, IN. Her hobbies include sewing, playing cards and reading. She is survived by one son, Michael (Kathleen) Dryer; sister, Harriet Sladek; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and thirty nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21 from 10 am until 11 am with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following in St. Christopher Catholic Church, 5301 W. 16th St., Speedway. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. In loving Memory of Louise M. Dryer, memorial contributions may be made to the Society of St Vincent DePaul, 3001 E. 30st St. Indianapolis, IN 46218

To my beautiful, amazing, intelligent, hilarious, classy, strong willed, independent, feminist before it wsa even recognized or popular prior to the 1970's coolest grandmother a woman could ask for in life has said her last goodbyes on this earth. I thank you for giving me all these traits and I will forever and ever and ever hold them close to my heart as one of your granddaughters. You have shown many people in your time here what the true meaning/value a woman can possess. Thanks for teaching and showing me how to never give up and keep fighting for what you believe in and want and to always keep laughing. You are the best grandmother a woman could ever have and you were way before your time in so many ways. I know with 100% certainity that St. Peter, Grandpa, Uncle Pete, Aunt Linda, Aunt Lucy, John, your parents and siblings and the Almighty God are very joyous upon your return to their heavenly lives. I will never forget you and your love, laughter, and strong sense of family that will live within all of us forever until we can see your beautiful face in heaven and with the angels. I love you Grandma and will miss you always.

Mom, It has been an honor to assist you for the last years of your life on earth. We know that you are at Peace with Dad, Lucy, Pete and Linda. Tell them all I said Hi! I am confident that you are in the Presence of God right now and He is so pleased with you. He appreciates your patience in waiting so long for your room to be readied in the mansion. Mom, we are totally at Peace with you and your passing. Like Pete said to me before he entered the hospital for his heart surgery ---- NO REGRETS. I Love You...... I miss you so much grandma but I'm glad you are finally at peace in heaven with your husband and children that you missed for so long! We used to have long talks about you wanting so badly to reunite with them. I know you are having the time of your life now!
