Obituary
John Steven Klarich 82, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully on January 30, 2013. John was born November 6, 1930 to John and Francis (Hren) Klarich in Indianapolis, both preceding him in death. On August 20, 1955 he married his beloved wife of 57 years, B. Jane (Goodin) Klarich. They are the loving parents of Diana Klarich, Dan and Anne Klarich, John A. Klarich and Theresa and Lillo Russello. Proud grandfather of Chris and Kiri Klarich, Katie Klarich, Brian Klarich, Sabrina Russello, Alison Klarich, Daniel Russello and Michael Russello. He is also survived by one great grandson, Beau Klarich. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School, a veteran of the Korean War and Indiana Bell employee for 42 years. Besides doting over his grandchildren some of his favorite pass-times were golf and cheering on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and the Indiana Hoosiers. Visitation will be on Saturday Feb 2, 2013 at 10:00 am with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 am in St. Christopher Catholic Church at 5301 W. 16th St. Speedway; Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery 2446 S Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN. Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th Street Indianapolis is entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, in honor of John, you may make a donation to the charity of your choice.

One of my first memories of Junior was when he took me with him on a road trip to Pennsylvania to visit the Shimrocks when I was only about 5 years old. I was a very shy child and was afraid of most adult relatives (Uncle John Hren for example because he was so big!) I must have already picked up on Junior's kind and gentle nature for me to have agreed to leave home. Junior was definitely a good family man. I thought it was so clever of him when he took the back seat out of their car, made a flat bed for all 4 pajamed kids, and he and Janie would set off for outdoor movies in the summer. I will miss Junior, and I'll always remember his bright smile and wonderful laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with you Janie, and Diana, Danny, Johnny and Terry.

I first met Mr. and Mrs. Klarich in the early 70's. What I remember most is that when I visited the house he was always watching college football. Always had a smile and always joking with you. Never saw the man in a bad mood. He and Mrs. Klarich raised a great family. As I raised my own family I moved in the neighborhood. Each day as he was driving home he would always wave and at times stop to say hi. I think those times that he stopped he was coming home from playing golf. I think he had to rub it in since I was working that day. My condolence to the family and will always remember Mr.Klarich.
