Obituary
Eileen Murray Arber, died in Indianapolis on March 1, 2013, following a long illness which she fought with remarkable optimism, courage and grace. Born in Springfield, Ohio on July 8, 1940, she was the daughter of Juliana and Christopher Murray. Eileen was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, the College of Mt. St. Joseph and received her Master's Degree from Indiana University. She married Thomas Arber on August 21, 1965. He precedes her in death in 1979. Eileen taught in Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, and twenty years at St. Michael School in Indianapolis. She was a member of St. Christopher Church. She is survived by her two sons - Michael (Jill) and granddaughter, Allison of Raleigh, North, Carolina; Patrick (Dory) and granddaughter, Jayden; step-grandsons, Gavyn and Tristan Ferguson of Hockessin, DE; her loving companion, Peter Munn, and his family - Lance (Vicki) Munn, Steve (Debbie) Munn, Laura (Fred) Miller, Sheila Stevens, Debbie (Mike) Kelly and their children and grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Kathy Angermeier and Judi Gilbertson; nieces and nephew, Lisa Angermeier, Kristine Torres and Rich Gilbertson as well as many fine cousins and friends in Ohio who were very close to her. Eileen also leaves behind all her stellar friends, Marian Mullen-Baker, Peggy Litzelman, and Marge Miller. Thank you! Being an only child, her friends were like family and she felt very fortunate to have so many magnificent friends in her life - especially Widows and Orphans, OFA (Marilyn, Donna, Marge, Mary, Bede and John), and PEO (many kindnesses, particularly the quilt made by Ann Glass). She wanted to be in a service group with Marge Skarbeck, but time just went too fast. A warm and caring individual, Eileen possessed a love of life which was evident to all who knew her. She loved fun, sports, laughing, dancing, pets, playing bridge, talking on the phone, reading, trying new things (she made quite a dent) and Cosmopolitans! Please drink one in her honor. Visitation will be held at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 5301 W. 16th St., Speedway on Thursday, March 7th at 10 am with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to St. Christopher Catholic Church, Salvation Army or Humane Society.

I will always remember how special Eileen made people feel. She had a special talent for truly listening when people needed to share their thoughts. Eileen was loved by everyone who met her. She will be missed by all those who knew her.

To Eileen's Family, Please accept our deepest condolences. Although she and I weren't related, we were often asked if we were, since we attended school together from first grade through graduation from high school. It was so nice to see her at our 50th high school reunion in Springfield in 2008. She was always a kind and special person. I also knew Tom in high school. He and Eileen were both good people.
