Obituary
Betty I. Underwood, 81, of Indianapolis passed away March 24, 2013. She was born on May 12, 1931 to Everett and Viola (File) Cade, both preceding her in death. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Joe D. Underwood who passed away in 2009 and son, Bryan D. Underwood who passed away August 1, 2011. She is survived by her son, Allen (Nancy Brockman) Underwood; grandchildren, Austin and Alexandria Underwood; brother, Tom (Joyce) Cade and sister in law, Opal Marks. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 30 from 10 am - 12 pm with a funeral service at 12 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indpls. Interment will follow in Lincoln Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society, 7929 N. Michigan Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46268.

I worked with Betty at Kmart several years ago. She always had a smile on her face and was truly a great lady. RIP Betty

BETTY AND I ADDOPTED EACH OTHER THE PAST YEAR AND HALF. WE SHARED DINNERS, HAIR CUTS AND TAKS. I WILL MISS HER SO VERY MUCH.

In the mid eighties I worked at a local truck line as a mechanic. Once I had to make the local Indy Kmart run because the regular driver was sick. I didnt know what to expect, but my first stop was on west Washington st. There was Betty to greet me at the dock.She helped me thru the process,and I saw her on occasion after that whenever the regular driver couldn't make it.She was always a hoot to be around!

It is with a heavy heart that I learned of Betty's passing. I grew up with her son Bryan and knew her well. She was a kind and sweet lady and the world is a sadder place now that she's gone. Heaven, on the other hand, is brighter now. The last four years were difficult; rest in peace Betty.
