Over my lifetime mom has shown me how to;
Recycle before recycling was popular.
Reduce waste and conserve before recycling and conservation was popular.
How to save for the future.
How to get that draw string back into the hooded sweat shirt
How to make a light house from an oatmeal box.
That earthly things or possessions are not that important, what is important is where you plan on spending eternity.
How to work hard and to make things with my own hands.
I think that she worked too hard and I had a hard time keeping up with her.
How to keep my home in order.
That life is short on this earth so do the best that you can while you are here.
I am greatful that she was my Mom I will miss her greatly.

I did not know her well, but I live down the street at 2953 N. Tibbs Ave. She seems to have been a very gracious lady.

I remember Great Aunt Rosie growing up seeing her at Great Grandma's house but not too often. I think she was busy raising all you kids. We got closer after your Dad died. I enjoyed talking to her on the phone or getting a letter from her. She kept me updated on the Duhs, Luzars and Osloses. I'll sure miss that and not seeing her. She was a very sweet, kind, loving, energetic woman. Even when she probably didn't feel that great. She never complained. One time I called and her smoke alarm kept beeping, it needed a battery but she couldn't reach it. It was getting on her nerves. I offered to come over but she said no that's ok, I'll have Jerry change it when he comes over in a few days. I don't want to call and bother him. She said he was busy. I know she really appreciated all her sons did for her. Great Aunt Rosie's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are so very lucky to have had her in their lives for so many years. I feel lucky too and wish she would have been my Aunt instead of Great Aunt. So sorry for your loss, I know she'll be missed by all her relatives and friends. She won't be forgotten and only good memories will fill everyone's hearts. She's with the Lord God and all her loved ones that are up in Heaven. She was a very spiritual woman and I think she'll be watching over all of us. My heartfelt sympathy to her family

Rose was a woman of great love and even greater faith. Her love was demonstrated on our weekly meetings when I would visit, sometimes to bring her Communion, sometimes just to pass the time. She would recount the many blessings she had received from her children and grandchildren, telling the stories of their lives as they had shared them with her. She was so proud of her family. Her smile lit her face when she talked about them.
Her faith was awesome and unswerving. My favorite episode was on Ash Wednesday when unsure of how she would receive ashes, she took her last year's palms, burned them and placed ashes on her own forehead as the penitents did in the years of early Christianity. Imagine Fr. Varghese's surprise when he came to administer ashes and Rose was already marked! She watched the televised Mass 3 times a day if she could. She so appreciated anything anyone would do for her, and she kept in touch with her parish community through the visits, often telling me scoops!
Her energy was unbridled. SHe could be found in her yard planting or pruning or moving rocks to suit her. Her house was always neat and "entertainment-ready". Guests were always welcome.
She had a grace and beauty that made being with her a treat. She will be missed, but the thought that she is enjoying her eternal reward makes the loss some bearable.

I did the 1st reading at mass which I didn't think I could do it, was too emotional and crying. But a few minutes before they closed the casket and the mass started my mom said clearly a short msg to me 'I am happy and my journey was safe'. Wow what a relief that was and I did the reading and have felt very good all day. At the end of the sermin the priest talked about moms journey to the other side. Was so moving.
