Mary Sullivan

Mary Jane Sullivan, 83, of Brownsburg passed away April 24, 2013. She was born on August 14, 1929 in Greensburg, IN to Raymond and Flora (Rolfes) Dwenger, who both precede her in death. Mary Jane was a loving mother and housewife, who for years enjoyed watching soap operas and basketball, especially Indiana University and the Pacers. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Westside Neighborhood Crime Watch. Mary Jane loved to garden, loved flowers, making stuffed animals for family, crocheting and crafting. Even though she wasn't Irish, she always instilled Irish pride in her children and they always wore green and a shamrock on St. Patrick's Day. She made a point to make each and every one of her children's birthday special. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Don Dwenger; brother, Bob Dwenger and sisters, Edna Bruns and Helen Sullivan. Mary Jane is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Virgil E. Sullivan; children, Michael E. (Mary A.) Sullivan, Rebecca J. Sullivan and Sandra (Mark) Sullivan Chastain; grandchildren, Michael P. Sullivan, Shannon Chastain, Sarah Sullivan Davis, Jennifer Sullivan Morton and Jason A. Chastain; brothers, Ralph and Russell Dwenger; sister, Patricia Dwenger Mulvaney and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 28 from 3 pm - 6 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indpls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 29 at 10 am in St. Malachy Catholic Church, 9833 E. County Road 750 N. Brownsburg. Interment will follow in South Park Cemetery, Greensburg, IN. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, 50 E. 91st, St #100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
