Lana K. (Hedge-Braughton) Hale, 69 of Nineveh, IN passed away on July 4, 2013. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on September 11, 1943 to Edwin D. and Edith I. (Peck) Hedge. Lana graduated from Whiteland High School in 1961. In 1976 she married her loving husband Larry Hale. She worked as head bartender for Hilton in the Indianapolis airport for 25 years and recently retired from Federal Express. Lana was a loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother and friend. She was fun loving, warm, compassionate lady. She always had a smile. Lana will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her husband Larry, daughter Kathy (William) Callahan, brother Edwin (Karen) Hedge, Niece Glenda Lindsey, step daughters Cathy (Jeff) Smith and Tina (Jeff) Patterson, and seven grandchildren, Brandon. Sarah, Meranda, Kayla, Myleiah, Jessica and Josh. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th St., Indpls with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indpls. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Aunt Lana, There are no words to describe the apprieation, thanks, respect, and love for you! What you have done for our family over the years makes you a saint! You will be deeply missed. It is hard for the family knowing you are gone and not being able to say goodbye! We love you and miss you dearly! You are forever our guardian angel.

I would like to offer my very deepest, heart felt condolences to Lana’s family. She was once my sister-in-law, yet more like a sister to my brothers & I, as well as a daughter to my parents. She will always live in my memories & heart. May she rest in eternal peace.

Lana, I was probably at your house enough through my high school years that you could've claimed me on your taxes. :) But really, I always thought SO much of you. I thought Kathy, my BEST friend in the whole world, was so lucky to have a mom like you. I had so many struggles with my own mother, so I was at your house a lot. You were kind, understanding, giving, and always welcomed me into your home. You made me feel like I belonged because you knew how important Kat and I were to each other. I also have to admire your patience for putting up with all the drama of teenage girls! Thank you for being so wonderful to me through those teenage years and for giving me the greatest lifetime friend, my Kat.

My Aunt Lana lived a life of love. 1Corinthians 13 vs 4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Lana is a testament of this kind of love. 2nd Corinthians 5:8 To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I will miss Lana but rejoice knowing she is now at peace. Revelations 21:4 states God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain. Love (God) has conquered death. Love you Lana
