Margret Schaffer

Margret E. Schaffer, 79, of Indianapolis, IN passed away November 2, 2013. She was born on June 13, 1934 in Van Buren, IN to the late Wilbur and Pearl (Blair) James. In 1986 she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Mr. Francis (Gene) Schaffer. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mildred (George) Lakin. Margret attended Light and Life Chapel for over 30 years working in missions and children programs. She had worked for St. Vincent's Hospital for 15 years before retiring. Margret was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by four sons, Daniel (Charlotte), Thomas (Angie), William (Brenda), and Richard (Kris) Schaffer; one daughter, Ruth Schaffer; sisters, Doris (Floyd) Case and Bonetha Smith; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday November 7, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th Street Indianapolis, IN. A funeral service will also be held in Stevens Mortuary on Friday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Floral Park Cemetery.
