Rossie Scarpone

Rossie Scarpone, 94, of Zionsville passed away January 5, 2014. She was born September 23, 1919 in Knoxville, TN to Neal and Lovie (Vincent) White. Rossie worked at Eli Lilly, Blocks Department Store, Methodist Hospital as a nurses' aid, Longs Bakery, Simon Mall, Hook's Drugs and Fanny May Candies. She enjoyed art and was a member of the Moose Lodge and St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Patrick J. Scarpone, to whom she was married to for 47 years and sisters, Elema Singer, Ives Goodwin and Hazel Groom. She is survived by her son, Stephen P. Scarpone; daughters, Dixie Newland and Linda Goodlet; stepsons, Mike and Chris Scarpone; grandchildren, Sharmain Bryant, Angela Ortaga, David Simpson, Kevin Newland, Kim Milky, Patrick and Tony Scarpone, Meckenzy Bryant, and Christifer Scarpone; 8 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15 from 4 pm - 8 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 16 at 10:30 am in St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 3354 W. 30th St., Indianapolis. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
