Gloria Howe

Gloria Howe, age 85, was born and raised in Bedford Ohio. After graduating from Ohio State University, she worked in hematology research in the Cleveland, Ohio area before moving to Indianapolis. Her entire professional career followed this research at various institutions in Indianapolis. She was an invited member of the team that established the specialized Hematology Department at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. In 1957 , Gloria married Neal (C.S.) Howe. They maintained a beautiful, close relationship for the next 56 years. Gloria was an enthusiastic volunteer for many Catholic organizations, including the Guardian Angels Guild and the Adoration Chapel at St. Michael's, St. Paul's Hermitage in Beech Grove,the store for the Little Sisters of the Poor prayer and study groups and many other charitable and fund-raising organizations in the area. She is survived by her husband Neal, a son Neal, daughter-in-law Carol, grandchildren Lauren and Austin of New Canaan, Ct., sister Patricia of New York and many loving nieces and nephews and their families, all of whom will miss her gentle and loving presence in their lives. Gloria was the first grandchild of her own extended family. She was highly respected and well-loved by all her cousins and their families. Her loving attention and graceful wisdom will be missed by all.
