Obituary
Mayme L. Rice 94, of Indianapolis passed away January 18, 2014. She was born in Terra Haute, IN on October 12, 1919 to Oscar and Evie (Davis) Bright, both preceding her in death. In 1991, her husband Mr. Martin Rice of 54 years preceded in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, John Michael Rice and great-grandson, Kaden Cassidy. Mayme held several clerical positions throughout Indianapolis having worked for RCA, J.I. Halcomb, L.S. Ayers and Dr. J. Abrams. She also worked in catering and hospitality for the Hilton Hotel. Mayme is survived by daughters, Beverly Ilich and Donna Chittester; grandsons, Kevin (Anne Marie) Cassidy, Gregory (Connie) Ilich, Brian (Pranee) Ilich and Keith (Rina) Cassidy; granddaughter, Kathleen (Jay) Brown; great grandchildren, Kyle Cassidy, Christopher Ilich, Adam Brown, Ashley Brown, Kelsie Cassidy, Cameron Cassidy, Austin Ilich, Brianne Ilich and Conner Cassidy and great great granddaughter, Chloe Cassidy. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21 from 4 pm - 8 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indpls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 22 at 9 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1375 S. Mickley Ave., Indpls. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Beverly, Donna and families, I know your hearts must be aching but I also know that it was time. What a wonderful gift to all of us to have her in our lives for so long. She had suffered so much yet when we visited she always made us laugh. I will always remember my only "Indpls" relatives with so much thanks. She was my link to my Mom and I feel like now Aunt Mayme and Mom are having a good time with Uncle Mart, Mike and Caden and Richard and even Dad (Uncle Hoyt). I will miss her but I am so happy that she is not in pain. Love to all of you Judy & Jerry

My favorite Aunt. I will always remember her. Didn't get to see much of her growing up, but loved her just the same. a barrel of fun and loving person. My mother Frances loved her very much as a sister - in -law.n She will surely be missed. Love Betty Sue Bright (Abbinett)
