Kathryn West

Kathryn West, 53, of Greencastle passed away January 28, 2014. She was born in Indianapolis, IN, on January 12, 1961 to Griffith and Lois (Shank) Johnson. Kathryn was a graduate of Ben Davis High School and was very active in the school's marching and jazz bands. She loved to travel extensively in the United States and was employed for several seasons at the Grand Canyon, Monterey, CA, and at Denali Park in Alaska. She was an accomplished artist and she and her husband, Brian, raised and sold a variety of exotic parrots under the name of Best Birds of Indiana. Kathryn is survived by her loving husband, Brian West; father, Griffith Kent Johnson; sister, Rebecca Johnson; brother, Griffith Kirk Johnson; niece and nephew, Michelle and Allen Johnson and their mother, Linda Freed.
