Robert Pardee

Robert E. "Mike" Pardee, 88, of Indianapolis passed away June 14, 2014. He was born on June 16, 1925 in Hillsdale, Pennsylvania to Charles E. and Esther (Tresse) Pardee. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from August 1943 to March 1946, serving in WWII on the U.S. McGowan (destroyer). He was awarded a Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal with 8 stars, Philippine-Liberation Medal with 2 stars and the American Campaign Medal. He was employed as a foreman at a construction company and prior to that was a lumberjack in Pennsylvania. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman and was very active in the family tree farm/hunting paradise. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen L. Pardee; brother, Charles Pardee Jr. and sister, Zelda Sonn. Robert is survived by his sons, Mike (Vicky), Ed (Charlote) and Terry (Mary) Pardee; daughters, Kathy Huey and Trish Bellis; sisters, Betty Jolly, Sarah Bair and Nellie Perowicz and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17 from 5 pm - 8 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indianapolis. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 10 am also at the mortuary. Burial will follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
