Obituary
Thomas S. Williams, 65, of Indianapolis passed away June 30, 2014. He was born April 13, 1949 to Lloyd George and Wilburena (Spurgeon) Williams. Tomas graduated from Shakamak High School in 1967 and Indiana University School of Business in 1971. He was a director of personnel at INDOT for over 20 years. He then went to work as a sales representative at Hawk Sales, where he retired. Tomas was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cathy A. Williams; sister in law, Pam Black; brother in law, Bruce Black and nephews, Brian and Robert Black. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5 from 4 pm - 8 pm in Stevens Mortuary, 5520 W. 10th St., Indpls. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 6 at 2 pm also at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6415 Castleway W. Drive, Suite 114, Indianapolis, IN 46250.

Tom, I will miss you buddy. Our memories go all the way back to our family trips in the 1950"s and 60's to St Louis to see your Cardinals and my Giants play. And how many golf games have we played together over the years? Never failed to have a good time with you,Tom. No one is funnier and could tell a great story like you, your mom and dad. It is just not going to be the same. Last Saturday after the end of the Shakamak baseball game we shook hands and I said good bye. Who in the world would have imagined. My thoughts and prayers to Cathy.

When you have a good friend for 60 years, it is hard to describe the loss right now. There are so many great memories from the grade school, high school, college years at IU, and married years Cathy, it would take too long to describe all the good times together. Tom was a great guy who touched many people with his caring friendship and sense of humor that was much like his wonderful dad, George. Although we did not see each other as much in later years, we could always pick up right were we left off. I will miss him and pray for Cathy in this time of grief.

Tom touched so many lives especially those of us who grew up together with him. I always looked forward to seeing him at the Jasonville Open and get a chance to talk about our lives growing up. He always ask about other classmates and friends. What a great, fun guy to be around. We will all miss him. Jane and I send our best to Cathy and family. As we go forward, I know the world will not be the same without him. However, I feel so blessed that I knew him and we remained friends all of these years.
