Clarence Bische

Clarence L. Bische, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 7, 2015. He was born on June 17, 1925 in Saint Marks, IN to the late Frank J. and Mary M. Bische. Clarence is also preceded in death by his daughter Mary; sister Rosa Bische and brother Harold Bische. Clarence worked for Allison Transmission retiring in 1987 after 30 years of employment. He was veteran of World War II and served in the US Army from 1943 to 1945. Clarence was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 500 and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church for 63 years and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Society. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, traveling and vacations with his family. Clarence was fondly known as the handyman for all of his friends and neighbors. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley A. Bische; son Steven (JoAnn) Bische, daughter Karen (Patrick) Marks; grandchildren Maria (Matt) Schoettmer, Stephany (Frank) Holleman, Rachel Bische, Jacob Bische, Rosa Bische, Erica Marks, Melanie Marks, and Aubrey Marks; great-grandchildren Hunter, Molly, Kaylee, Layla and Sydney. Visitation will be held on Sunday January 11, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:30 PM in Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th St., Indianapolis, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday January 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM in St. Christopher Catholic Church 5301 W. 16th St. Speedway, IN with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time.
