Aunt Shirley was a wonderful, unique lady. I've never seen her angry, even when we were kids and celebrated Christmas at their home. She always had a huge SMILE that would light up an entire room. She was mostly quiet but you knew if she disagreed with someone or something. Keep in mind I was a youngster and I know she would hide any bad feelings from us..... I loved spending time with her and her family. I always felt comfortable around her. She LOVED all of us!!!

Shirley and my Mom, Lorraine were 'best buds' for more than 70 years. Shirley was never afraid to try something new. I have fond memories of when she, Mom, and I would have 'adventures' together. On our trip to Cancun, we encountered an iguana in our hotel room. Shirley said we should call the desk and complain that we were not paying for an extra occupant! When the three of us went to a Neil Diamond concert, our 'chauffer' pulled up in a pickup truck with 2 lawn chairs in the bed. Lorraine didn't take it too well, but Shirley was ready to climb up into the truck! Then there were the birthday margaritas at Chi-Chi's. Shirley, Lorraine, my bestie Marilyn (who shared a birthday with Mom), and myself. Good times!
Shirley has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I will miss her. Thanks to all the Bell children for sharing your Mom with me.
God bless her and welcome her gladly. We will see her again.
