Obituary
Steven E. Deer, 62, of Indianapolis passed away July 28, 2015. He was born April 15, 1953 in Indianapolis, IN to Darwin and Jeanette (Samet) Deer. Steven served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for UPS Services of 21 years in the customer service department before deciding for an employment change and also worked at McGraw Hill as a Constructed Response Scoring Professional, using his journalism knowledge for several years. Steven enjoyed writing freelance articles throughout his life and using his creative skills with painting and recycling items into new usable items. He is survived by his children, Bethany and Zachary; brother, Michael; granddaughter, Alexis and nephew, Stephen. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 6 at 11 am in Oak Hill Cemetery, 925 E. Washington St., Lebanon, IN 46052.

I worked with Steve during the early years at UPS.
Just always remembering how Steve would ALWAYS take time out from his job to help me out on mine. He would do this for any of his co-workers.

Just heard the sad news. I worked with Steve at UPS. As Sheila said in her message, Steve was always willing to help with anything. I will remember him always as a happy, friendly, loving man.

I am so sorry for the Deer Family and your loss; I lost my Mom last year. I have found death to leave me with a feeling of helplessness. May I leave you this word of encouragement that has helped me? The Bible says at 1 Corinthians 15: 26 that God hates death, and shows it to be an enemy. He has "a yearning" to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He longs to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again. -Job 14:14, 15. My sincere condolences.
