John McGuire

John Michael McGuire, 18, was born on May 18, 1997 in Indianapolis, Indiana to April D. Hogue and Michael J. McGuire. He was raised on the westside of Indianapolis where he lived his life with his parents, April and Shawn Leo and sister, Alyssa McGuire. At age five John enrolled in Ben Davis Little League Baseball. It was then he developed a love for the game that would continue throughout his life. John earned several academic awards as Student Athlete throughout junior high and high school. He played second base for the Ben Davis Varsity Baseball Team. John graduated with Academic Honors from Ben Davis High School class of 2015. He was a freshman at the University of Indianapolis and had just begun classes this semester as a pre-athletic training major. John's ambition was to pursue his education by attending UIndy's DPT Program. In April 2014, John was employed by MCL Restaurant and Bakery in Avon, Indiana. John was a loving brother to Alyssa; they could always depend on one another. John enjoyed spending time with his friends as well as his girlfriend of two years, Savannah Gill. For those that had the opportunity to know John it was truly a blessing. He had a heart of gold, positive attitude, and natural ability to make others smile. Always ready to listen to anyone in need and give the best advice he could. John lived life to the fullest, always making his family proud. John's life would seem short to many, but those who were touched by him understand the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. John was granted his angel wings on October 11, 2015. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlene Hamilton, John Hogue and Michael L. McGuire. John is survived by his loving parents, April and Shawn Leo, Michael McGuire; sister, Alyssa McGuire; grandparents, Denise Hughes, Ed Hamilton, Terri Hogue and Jayne and Mike Rigsby; great grandmother, Jean DeBaun; aunt, Amy (Matthew) Gill and several cousins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 2 pm – 7 pm with a 7 pm service at Chapel Rock Christian Church, 2020 N. Girls School Rd., Indpls.
