Obituary
Carl E. Daugherty III, 62, of Avon, IN passed away peacefully at his home on November 5, 2015. Carl was born on February 28, 1953 in Indianapolis, IN to Carl and Martha (Smith) Daugherty. Carl was the owner of Pioneer Heating and Cooling in Mooresville, IN for over 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 103 and loved hunting, fishing and guns. Carl was a devoted husband father, grandfather and great grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Barbara Daugherty; daughters, Jenny Taylor, Emily Montgomery, Amy Taylor, Angie Taylor and Martie Morris; sons, Carl E. Daugherty IV and Chris Taylor; brother, James Daugherty; sister, Becky Hayes; grandchildren, Tyler, Heidi, James, Austin, Michaela, Logan, Madison, Lucas, Landon, Ronald, Ryan, Dakota, Taylor, Shane, Hallie and Braedyn and great-grandchildren, Xander, Canden and Chemburlyn. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 7:00 pm in Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th Street Indianapolis, IN with visitation from 3:00 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 9075 N. Meridian St., Suite 150, Indianapolis, IN 46260.

In memory of my loving Uncle Carl who will live in my heart forever. A man of endless real life stories, who lived live to the fullest, knew more random trivia than anyone in the world and made the best enchiladas this side of the Rio Grande. With passionate eyes as blue as the sea and a heart of gold, he loved his family, fishing and hunting (not necessarily in that order depending on the season!).
Thanks for all you have taught me. I will love you forever my sweet Uncle.

Carl I have so many memories of our crazy days back at high school. Sure going to miss you .Wish we could go fishing one more time. If I know you, you are in heaven fishing with the Lord. Rest in peace, good friend.

I am so sorry for the Daugherty Family and your loss; I recently lost my Mom. I have found death to leave me with a feeling of helplessness. May I leave you this word of encouragement that has helped me? The Bible says at 1 Corinthians 15: 26 that God hates death, and shows it to be an enemy. He has "a yearning" to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He longs to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again. -Job 14:14, 15. My sincere condolences.
