Obituary
Rita Marie Paradise, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015. Rita was born on May 23, 1932 to William C. and Georgia (Whitehead) Baar, both precede her in death. Also preceding her in death was one son, Gary Michael. Rita was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1951 and was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Rita was employed by L.S. Ayres department store prior to co-founding Paradise Machine and Tool, where she operated the business with her husband and family until her retirement in 1998. Rita enjoyed her retirement, especially enjoying the 27 winters she spent in Arizona with her loving husband of 63 years, Mr. Francis Paradise, to whom she leaves to cherish her memory. She is also survived by her children, Dennis (Georgianna) Paradise, Debra (David) Andrewski, Mark Paradise and Jeanne (Kevin) Thompson; eight grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Schmalz. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 5, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 pm at Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th St. Indpls, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 5301 West 16th St., Speedway. Rita Marie Paradise will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you would consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1893 Memphis, TN 28101-9950 or to St. Christopher Catholic School, 5335 W. 16th St. Indpls, IN 46224.

To the entire Paradise family. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. A Mother is someone who will be missed most. We're sure you will all miss her in your own way. Know that she is with her creator and will have eternal happiness. The next days will be hard to get through but time will pass and you will always have the memories that were made over the years. My condolences to the family. May you find comfort in knowing that God's son Christ Jesus gave his life in exchange for a ransom so that our loved one's could have a chance at a resurrection. Acts 24:15 says there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous and with this hope, it is possible for you to see her again. We are given more hope and comfort at Rev. 21:3,4 where it talks about a restored paradise where the human family will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free of sickness, disease and death as we welcome back our dear loved ones. May these scriptures help you in your healing and may the many wonderful memories that Rita provides comfort you in this most difficult time.

Rita and Frank have been dear friends of my mother, Betsy Brodie, and her late husband, John, for all of my life. We are so sorry to hear of Rita's passing. My mom still has many fond memories of the time that they lived on the same street years ago. I'm sure that Rita's cheerful spirit will be greatly missed by her friends and family. God bless.
