Obituary
Paul C. McGovern Jr., 87, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Robin Run Village. Paul was born November 27, 1928 in Cincinnati, OH to Paul and Rose (Menke) McGovern. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. Paul was self-employed in the pure bred swine production industry. In his retirement he was an avid fisherman. Mr. McGovern was preceded in death by his two sisters, June Grochulski and Peg Mersch and his grandson, Capt. Timothy McGovern. He is survived by his children Kathleen McGovern, William (Jonell) McGovern, Mary McGovern, Linda (Gary) Cook and Thomas (Tricia) McGovern; grandchildren Miranda (Christopher) Chenoweth, Carson Cook, Katherine Cook and Owen McGovern; great-grandchildren William and Samuel Chenoweth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 22, 2016 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church 3354 W. 30th St., Indpls, the family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that contributions be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish. Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th St., Indpls is entrusted with arrangements.

I am so sorry for your loss, and the McGovern family I lost my Mom recently and have found death to leave me with a feeling of helplessness. May I leave you this word of encouragement that has helped me. The Bible says that God hates death; he views it as an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15: 26) He has "a yearning" to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He longs to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again. -Job 14:14,15. My condolences to the family. The loss of a loved one is never easy but please find comfort in God's word the bible that says that there is going to be a resurrection. Acts 24:15 says there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous, and with this hope it is possible to see him again. Please find comfort in God's word the bible and may all the any wonderful memories that Paul your loved one provided comfort you during this most difficult time.
