Obituary
Violet B. Duffy, 86, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on July 4, 2016. Violet was born in Indianapolis, IN on January 30, 1930 to James and Ina Gott. Violet was a stay at home mom until her children were older. She then worked at Fulton Jr. High Cafeteria for twenty years in the baking department. At the age of 50, Violet received her GED and driver's license, a proud moment for everyone. She was the glue that held the family together. Violet was always doing for others. Her very pride and joy were her grandsons; Matthew and Dustin. Her great granddaughter Mya was the love of her life. She will be deeply missed by many. Violet is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert F. Duffy. She is survived by her sons, Jerry and Scott Duffy; daughter, Susan (Craig) Lawson; grandsons, Matthew and Dustin Barnhart and great granddaughter Mya Shively. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th Street Indpls, IN with visitation from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Hi Vi,
I am sorry I did not make it back up to Indy to see you but so glad I got to see you a few years ago. My family couldn't believe I remembered my way back to your house :) I will always love you and think of you and all the fun times we had together and how we seemed to know what the other was going to say before they said it. You are a precious part of my memories. I will see you soon....and we will continue where we left off last.

I am so glad we got to visit Violet while we were back in May. She was so understanding about the antics of the boys in the neighborhood. It was great growing up with a neighbor like her. I know she will be missed.
