Obituary
Rudy L. Cesnik, 100, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on July 27, 2016. He was born in Morgantown, Brown County, Indiana on April 14, 1916 to Luka and Agnes Klemen Cesnik. He was a graduate of Tech High School, Indianapolis, IN. Proudly and bravely, Rudy served from 1941 – 1945 in the US Army. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and awarded a Bronze Star for his heroism. In his youth he played amateur football and was a skilled bowler, participating in numerous leagues in Indianapolis, IN. He was an avid golfer in his later years. Rudy's career from the 1930's up until 1966 was with Kingan & Company, Pork & Beef Meat Packers. Rudy rose to the position of Foreman and then in 1966 was transferred to Detroit, MI. Rudy was an expert in his field and consulted for numerous plants and companies throughout the United States. Then in 1981, Rudy retired from John Morrell Meats, Chicago, Illinois after rising to the position of Superintendent. Rudy was a member of the Westside Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph, Louis and Frank Cesnik; sister, Antonia Mollett; nephew, Charles L. Cesnik; son, James D. Cesnik; and his loving and devoted wife of 52 years Iris Norton Cesnik. Rudy is survived by his daughter, Bobijean Neher; grandson, Eric S. (Lydia) Neher; great-granddaughters Claire Neher, Emile Neher; family friend, Janette Whitley (Brett) Stevens and her son Aaron (Jessica) Whitley; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and extended family. To the dear family of Rudy Cesnik,
Please accept our deepest sympathy in your loss. We are sure Rudy will be deeply missed by each and every family member. We would like you to know it was a great privilege and honor to meet Rudy when we helped with his application for him to go on the Indy Honor Flight. He was a true inspiration and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him in a very small way during that time. Fred said he will always remember how Rudy informed him not to give him more credit than he deserved. He was on UTAH BEACH not Omaha Beach.
We are sorry to have to miss his celebration of life, but both of us have a very bad bug and should not be around anyone at this time.

My condolences to the family. The loss of a loved one is never easy. May our loving God continue to bless and strengthen you as you remember that his Word the Bible at John 5:28, 29 says that there is going to be a resurrection. With this promise it is possible for you to see him again. The best Friend a bereaved person can have is our Creator, Jehovah God. We are encouraged at 1 Peter 5:7 to pour out our heart to him in prayer because "he cares for you." Moreover, he promises that all who do so will have their thoughts and feelings soothed by "the peace of God that surpasses all understanding." Please allow God to help you heal by means of his consoling Word, the Bible. May all the many wonderful memories that Rudy your loved one provided comfort you during this most difficult time.
