Obituary
Ruth E Young 85, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016. Ruth was born June 16, 1931 to Sherman and Goldie (Davenport) Armes and was raised in Glendale, IN. Both precede her in death. Ruth was the youngest of 8 children. Ruth was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and watching Indiana basketball teams. She attended Indiana Business College in 1960. She was employed by American Airlines for 34 years and loved the people she worked with, retiring in 1994. She is survived by two sons, Don and Bruce (DeVonne) Anderson, 4 grandchildren Tina (Brad) Magee, Kelly (Ryan) Meyer, Scott Anderson and Alissa Anderson, and two great-grandchildren, Tori and Bella. She was a member of Mt. Olive Ministries and enjoyed participating in various ministries. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, September 20th from 4 to 8 pm at Stevens Mortuary, 5520 West 10th street, Indianapolis. The funeral service will be held at Stevens Mortuary on Wednesday, September 21st at 10:00 am. The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Sandra Barron and the entire Marquette Manor Health Center staff for the wonderful care extended to Ruth over the last 3.5 years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

So sorry to learn of the passing of Ruth, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a very special person to me. She will be sadly missed.

What a dear sweet person Aunr Ruth was. I talked to her frequently when Mother was sick. I am sad for our loss. But I know she is with her savior, right were she wants to be. We plan to see you on Wednesday.

Ruth was a fine lady I enjoyed working with her at American. When I transferred to Indy from Nashville, TN in 1968 Ruth was the first person I saw. We worked together for many yrs. I always loved her smile when we came in contact with one another looking for a lost bag or missed check bag she would call down stairs to the bag room and ask for a certain bag to be taken up to the ticket counter for recheck. I will miss her very much. I too retired from AA in 2003 with almost 43yrs,what a ride with such a great Airline and good people to work with like Ruth. God bless all the family. Tom Chambers, Crew

Dear Cousins, please accept my families' sincere condolences. Aunt Ruth was such a lovely person inside and out. She was so strong....raising you as a single Mom after your Dad passed. Your family is in our prayers. May God grant you comfort and may wonderful memories fill you up during this sorrowful time. May her memory be eternal.

My condolences to the family. The loss of a loved one is never easy. May our loving God continue to bless and strengthen you as you remember that his Word the Bible at Acts 24:15 that says there is going to be a resurrection. With this promise it is possible for you to see her again. We are encouraged at 1 Peter 5:7 to pour out our heart to him in prayer because "he cares for you." Moreover, he promises that all who do so will have their thoughts and feelings soothed by "the peace of God that surpasses all understanding." (Philippians 4:6, 7) Please allow God to help you heal by means of his consoling Word, the Bible. May all the many wonderful memories that Ruth your loved one provided comfort you during this most difficult time.
