Obituary

Kevin Krumb, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 26th, 2025. He was 65 years young and was surrounded by family, friends, and music at the time of his passing.

Born on May 26, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Robert and Mary Krumb, Kevin lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family and friends. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1977, maintaining cherished friendships with many of his classmates throughout his life. Following high school, he worked at Hoosier Bottled Water as a Route Salesman, a job he loved and used to build a solid foundation for himself and his future family.

In 1986, Kevin married the love of his life, Veronica, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with love and companionship. Together, they raised two wonderful children: daughter Allie and son Kris, both of whom he was incredibly proud of and loved dearly.  

Kevin devoted the majority of his career to the meticulous work of an aircraft mechanic, graduating from A&P school in 1995. He was employed at various companies such as ATA, AAR, and most recently Rolls Royce. At every company, he was known not only for his skill and precision but also for his generous spirit and mentoring of younger colleagues. He took immense pride in his work and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others.

Outside of his professional life, Kevin was an accomplished cook, who delighted in sharing his culinary creations with loved ones. He enjoyed listening to music, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. His warm and approachable nature allowed him to connect with people easily; he never knew a stranger, and his engaging personality and quick wit made him a joy to be around. He had a remarkable ability to make others laugh and lift their spirits.

Above all, Kevin cherished his family. He was a devoted husband of 38 years and a truly exceptional father, showering his loved ones with unconditional love and support.

Kevin will be deeply missed by his wife, Veronica; his children, Allie and Kris; sister Kathy; grandchildren Gryffin and Winnie, and the countless friends whose lives he touched. His memory will be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, May 9th at 4:00 PM – 8:00PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 11:00 AM.  Both will be held at Steven's Mortuary located at 5520 W 10thSt, Indianapolis, IN 46224.

We were so sorry to hear of Kevin’s passing. Even though we only knew him for 10 years, the stories he shared with us made us feel like we had known him since high school. He was a wonderful neighbor who was always willing to help when needed. We enjoyed it when he played his music outside, as he said “ the Eagles were the Best Band ever “and we were so happy he and Veronica were able to enjoy one more concert together! You loved to grill out and we enjoyed every cookout you invited us to. We will miss you Kevin, but we know you are in a better place, and in no more pain. Don’t worry about Veronica, you raised great kids that will look after her, and we will keep an eye on her too as well as all the friends. Be the Guardian Angel to this grandkids as I know you will. We love you Betty and Brent Schneider

Kevin led a joyful life. Kevin was fun. We love this picture of Kevin posted. It shows his joyful spirit. He enjoyed people and engaged everyone openly and forthrightly. His spirit was fun loving, responsible and playful. Kris’s obituary is well written and very accurate. Kevin was interesting to converse with. I enjoyed talking with Kevin about his love of sports. He had deep knowledge about IU Basketball. He also shared knowledge about his aviation career. We have happy memories of the parties Kevin and Veronica held at their homes. They invited everyone and were very welcoming. Veronica and Kevin always were helpful. Their attitude about life is inspiring. Kevin also faced his life challenges squarely. In earlier life he embraced recovery and adjusted his life accordingly. Later he was honest and open about his health problems. Which showed Kevin’s impressive internal integrity. Veronica, Allie and Kris cared very well for Kevin while he was sick. We are grateful his suffering was minimizes as much as possible. We are both very sad and relieved that Kevin has passed. His long-term health concerns were a heavy burden for him and his family. We are thankful to God that his pain has passed. Kevin Krumb will be missed. - Art Binhack & Teri Hesselbein

Kevin Eugene Krumb (Mad dog) Lead Rhythm Guitarist of the Mythical Punk Rock Band The Tires. Formally Kevin and The Tone Deafs! Met his soulmate Veronica at the World Famous Picadilly (Eagledale Bar)! Lover of all sports, IU and "Indy 500". Never met a stranger, was kind, always willing to help a friend out. He was one of Seven High School Friends, who 4 of us regularly got together. He will be missed! I'll think of him whenever I sip a Buffalo Trace on the rocks. Steve Hay
