Obituary
Eileen Alice Archer, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2016. Eileen was born on July 12, 1930 in Byesville, OH to David and Carolena Sharratt. Eileen met the love of her life, William Archer, while living in Ohio. The two were married on January 20, 1951 and moved their family to Indianapolis, IN in 1965, where they had been residents ever since. Eileen devoted her life to faith, to her family and to serving others. She spent over twenty years as an Accounting Clerk at Peerless Pump. She was a long time member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. She found her greatest joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending her time giving back to her community, playing cards weekly with her friends and being a member of the Red Hat Society. Eileen is preceded in death by her son, Jay W. Archer and her brother, Samuel Sharratt. Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, William Archer; sister, Jo Marion; children, Jeffrey (Patricia) and Patrick (Rene) Archer; daughter-in-law, Alison Archer; grandchildren, Adam Archer, Lindsey (Jonathan) Shaw, Scott Archer, Kevin Archer and Benjamin Archer; great grandchild, Aidan Archer and many loving nieces and nephews and their children. Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 20 at Stevens Mortuary with a recitation of the Rosary at 3:30 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 21 at St. Christopher Catholic Church. All are welcome to join for a lunch directly following the funeral mass.

I am so sad to hear of the loss of my friend Eileen. We sat next to each other at church for the last few years. She would talk about her family, how much she cared for them and how she was still mourning the loss of Jay. She was a sweet and wonderful woman and friend. I called her recently to see how she and Bill were doing. It is so hard for me to comprehend that she is not here anymore. I treasure the picture that I have of the two of us that another friend took.
And to the family, you have suffered two losses in a short time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers - especially you Bill.

We are so sorry to hear of our Aunt Eileen's passing. She was such a sweet soul and could make anyone feel at home. My college friend and I drove from Ohio to visit in 1997 and she treated my friend like a grandson.
Uncle Bill, we will keep you and your family in our prayers now and in the future. May God give you peace, comfort and love!
