Obituary

John R. Bybee, born July 20, 1971, passed away on May 16, 2025, surrounded by the ones he loved most. A devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and veteran, John's life was defined by service, strength, and unwavering love for his family.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Janie and Russell Bybee. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jenna; his two sons, Anthony and Zach; his brother, Jeff; and his sisters, Amy, Katie, and Sarah.

 

John proudly served in the United States Navy for 23 years, dedicating his career to protecting and serving his country with honor and integrity.

 

John will be remembered for his deep loyalty, warm heart, and the quiet strength he brought to every aspect of his life. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.

 

Please join in celebrating the life of John R. Bybee with the ones who loved him most. We will be having a memorial prayer service at Calvary Cemetery on May 22nd at 3:30 PM.


The service will be conducted next to his father and mother's place of rest, in the All Saints section towards the back of the cemetery.

My name is Aaron Bacot. I served with John as a member of the Knighthawks of VFA-136. He was one of the first sailors that I met at my first duty station. He was a plane captain in the lineshack and helped trained me. I’m sorry for your loss and to hear of his passing. Fair winds and following seas shipmate

I served with John on the U.S.S. George Washington with the VFA-136 Knighthawks. Sorry for your loss. Fair winds and following seas.
