Shirley (Simpson) Long, 76, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on August 7, 2017. Shirley was born in Greensburg, Kentucky on March 5, 1941 to Lucian and Alice Simpson. Shirley was a devoted and loving mother and housewife. She enjoyed word search puzzles, she loved collecting roosters and hens of all sorts and she enjoyed bird feeding and watching. Shirley loved her children and family, she will be greatly missed by many.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Dilma Harrison, Joyce Warl, James Simpson and Bob Simpson. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James R. Long; daughter, Linda M. Long; son, James A. (Dennis M. Henry) Long; sister, Florence Wyatt; brothers, Wayne Simpson, German (Wilda) Simpson, Lucian Junior (Lydia) Simpson; brother in law, Ed Harrison; sister in law, June Simpson.

For the best mom in the world. Sweet, caring, would do anything within her means for anyone. My heart just breaks knowing your not just a phone call away, having lunch today and you were not with us. But, your in a better place now, no pain or suffering, you can walk, smile and laugh which you could not do here at the end. I love you so much, I will think of you daily. Be at peace momma! Love always!
