Obituary

Karen Ann Hodges, 79, of Noblesville passed away on June 5, 2025. She was born in Indianapolis to Daniel Coplea and Betty Lou Smith on June 27, 1945. Karen worked at and retired from Wishard Hospital, where she was a certified biller and officer manager. She loved animals and traveling, thoroughly enjoyed cooking, making Christmas candy, loved sports, cooking shows and older mystery shows! Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy; her smile would light up in their presence. She was most proud in the moments spent with them. She was a very loving, kind hearted mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She leaves behind her son, Tommie Hodges; daughter, Allyse Zerman; granddaughter, Courtnee Ingersoll (Hodges); grandson-in-law, Robert Ingersoll; grandson, Zachary Zeman; great grandchildren, Austin and Elliana Ingersoll; her two daughters she took on, Kendra and Anna; and her close friends, Nana Eunice and Wee Wee, who were like sisters to Karen; and her aunt, Sissie and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Coplea; her mother, Betty Lou Smith; and her beloved animals, Muffin, Sophie and Bubba. She will be missed and yearned for deeply.

Grandma Karen was truly the best! She was the best grandmother I ever had! She loved me unconditionally and love our sweet fur babies like her own! She was truly one of a kind, easy going and could talk to her about anything ! She truly made such an impact on my life and I will miss her for eternity! I will always keep her memory going and think about all of our good times! I love you grandma Karen! ❤️❤️

Karen is my first cousin and I talked to her in May while I was back in Indianapolis. I was so sorry to hear of her death. My thoughts and prayers are with Tommy and Courtney and the rest of her family. May God be with you all during this difficult time. Paula Golc Hott
